Baby Lily Update

I have not written in a while. Jay keeps me pretty busy now days. It is hard to take the time to blog ever night like I did while pregos with him. Everything has been going good. Lily is kicking away all day. Not so much kicking but turning her entire body. I am not sure when she sleeps. She is going to be a fire pistol like me I am afraid. She gets it honestly from mom and dad. I completed her nursery in August. Clothes washed and all. I was concerned about possible bed rest again. However everything has been going great. The amniotic bad is high up and thinned out. Lily is not near the band which is good. They will still monitor that band. They will even look at it closely during delivery.
I went to my 32 weeks check up and everything looked great in the ultrasound. Her hearbeat was 147 and moving like crazy. She said Lily's head is very low. At times I feel like she is going to pop out and say hey mom. She sits right on my bladder which makes me uncomfortable. I have had a little menstrual like cramps and tightness. I just thought it was Lily stretching. I have been told I am having contractions. After my doctor examined me yesterday, he said I was 70% effaced and 1 cm dilated. His concern is that I have changed drastically within two weeks and how low her head is. He sent me to labor and delivery last night to be monitored and receive fluids. I want running a fever so he kept me a little longer. He said I probably caught a bug from school. Well I feel yucky today.. :(  He sent me home to bed rest until I deliver. He told me I could deliver anytime or wait until full term. He said when I do go into labor I will go fast. This scares me! I have to take it very easy so that I do force my body into labor. I continue to feel my belly tighten and wonder is this a contraction or Lily. I was induced with Jay so I did not experience contractions long without meds. I pray she does not come this earlier. Mom is on her way from Georgia to help out again. Bless her heart she is awesome!! I feel like such a burden on her an everyone else. I hate that school just started and I can not be there. My students do not do well with change. Jay does not understand either why mom can not play. Today he kept getting me to go outside to play with him. I feel so bad and just want to cry. This is very hard for me to go through again. A very emotional and scary time. I know I have to leave this in God's hand and he has a plan for us. On a positive note , I am so excited to see Lily. I picture her with dark hair and eyes.. We will see...

27 Weeks

24 weeks

Baby Lily is a very active little girl inside my belly. I believe she is a little more active then her brother. I went to the doctor last week and her heartbeat was 154. She weighed 1 pd 6oz. I have gained 14 pds. I feel huge though. :) The amniotic band is still far away from her.  She is a big healthy little girl. The doctor said my cervix was soft and has thinned and shortened out 50%. When I heard this, I became very concerned. The cervix does not start to thin out or get soft until time for labor. He explained that my cervix has been like this for a couple of weeks. Since my cervix has not changed, he is not very concerned about it. He will continue to monitor it. If it does change there is a good chance I will be back on bed rest. I pray this does not happen. He said to take things easy. He told me , this is going to be along pregnancy. It is crazy the difference between pregnancies. Jay was an easy walk in the park. I had plenty of energy to workout all the time, no sickness, felt great! Maybe because it was not 120 degrees outside. lol.. It feels that hot to me. Pregnancy and heat are not a good mix. I love being outside but it is hard this summer.  This pregnancy is kicking me in the butt. I am tired all the time, feel sick some mornings, belly pressure, I am already somewhat waddling, walk very slow, and try my hardest to work out. Lily is putting a lot of pressure on my cervix. I feel I have to pee all the time and a lot of pressure at times on one side. The ultrasound tech said her head is putting a lot of pressure on me. However she is kicking my butt. lol.... I am sure chasing a 2 year old all day doesn't help either.. :)
The nursery is almost complete! It looks great. Tara came for the weekend and helped out. She is very creative!!!! I am waiting on the quilt, rug, and curtains to come in and it will be complete.

It's a Girl!!!!!!!!!

It's a girl!!!!!! I am so excited. We changed her name to Lillian Adeline . We are going to call her Lily. Originally we were going to name her Nealee. We have been set on this name for years. However after speaking to my sister on the phone, she told me my maternal grandmother's  middle name is Lillian. I told her I love that name! Lily's middle name is Adeline which is my paternal grandmother's name. I told Justin I wanted to change her name to Lillian Adeline and call her Lily. It took some time to talk him into it. I told him how important that name means to me. My paternal grandmother passed away before Jays was born. My maternal grandmother is still alive and was very honored for us to name her Lillian.
Lily's heartbeat was 146. The funny thing is Jay's heartbeat was around this at this time. You can not tell the sex by the heartbeat. I don't believe in this. Mom and I went to the ultrasound together. When the ultrasound tech said girl, I was overjoyed. We are so blessed. Not only are we having a girl but the blot clot is gone and my placenta previa is gone. I still have the amniotic band. The band is attached from top to bottom and very thick. The band is pretty far away from Lily. She is not entangled in the cord at all. This is a good thing. Most bands are like jelly fish tentacles which is easy for the baby to get entangled in them. Since I have a thick top to bottom band, the doctor said there is a small percentage of her getting entangled. The doctor is still going to closely monitor the band. He took me off bed rest!!! Great news. I am slowly trying to get back into a routine. I find myself getting tired fast. I am starting to work out again. After today's little workout I realized how one month of doing nothing can get you out of shape. lol..
Mom and I have been shopping a little bit. Every little outfit I see I want it. lol.. I dress Jay up in stylish clothes and I thought he was expensive. WOW.. a girl is going to be very expensive. I have to control myself at stores. At least I buy things on clearance. I already have her nursery planned out. I know Justin is not going to enjoy this part. lol.. He doesn't care about girl décor at all.
Mom is flying home on Saturday. She has been a huge help!! We are so appreciative of her help!!!! We are going to miss her. I know Jay will. He loves his Nana.

Mom

I want to write a blog about my wonderful mom. The day I got the news I was going to be on bed rest she bought a ticket and flew to Texas to help. She has been here for three weeks now. She has cooked and cleaned every day. She runs errands when needed, helps out with Jay and a lot more. She bosses me around to stay sitting down. Now that is a hard job. I don't like to sit or be bossed around. She keeps me under control. She is a very caring and loving mom. Jay is having a blast with her here. She is loving the time she spends with him. I know I am hard patient. I am very stubborn, OCD, hyper, etc. My mom has so many patience with me. My mom has a lot of responsibilities at home but she has decided to put her life on hold to help me out. This means more than I can ever tell her. She has been a wonderful support system. She has been to the ultrasounds for support. She heard the baby's heartbeat and saw it kicking. She will be there on the 6th to find out the sex. I am honored to share these special moments with her. Due to the distance, I am not able to share as much of my special  moments with her in person. We have tried to talk mom and dad into moving on our land in Texas. I doubt that will happen. Great idea though :). Thanks mom!! We appreciate your love and support!

Today I have been very emotional. I am sure it is a mixture of laying around all day and my hormones. I have not had time to cry and let out my emotions. I am so scared. I have been a little fussy with everyone in the house. I am just stressed. I can't take it out on them. Need to work on this.

I have an amniotic band in my placenta. The amniotic band can entangle around the baby. This could cause a number of different abnormalities. It can cause a limb to be amputated, cleft lip palate, club foot. It could cause more severe problems if it entangles around the baby's organs or neck. The band can break off and go away or never effect the baby. This is what we are praying for.

I have decided if my baby is born without a limb or abnormality I will be ok with that. That can be replaced. I just want the baby to be healthy. I pray for no brain or cognitive deficits. I work with special needs children and I have seen so many children with cognitive deficits, physical abnormailties, etc. I have children that will never know night from day, never cognitively grow beyond 3 months, never be able to speak or express their emotions. This breaks my heart.  Even though these children experience these difficulties I will never look or love them any less than a perfectly healthy child.

The baby has been kicking a lot today to bring happy thoughts. Every time I feel baby kick, the biggest smile comes across my face. The best feeling while pregnant! Come on June 6th so I can say boy or girl in my blogs. Fingers crossed for Neilee.:)

16 weeks

I am still on light bed rest.  I spoke to the doctor and he said I have to continue light bed rest until June 6th. We are suppose to find out the sex then. We tried at 15 weeks but the baby would not show us. :) My mom is going to stay until then. She has been so awesome. She has been very patient with me. I know I am not the easiest patient. I am a little OCD so I want someone to continue my OCD ways. However my mom is not OCD so I am having to get used to her ways. She does a great job keeping the house clean and cooks every night.  Jay is enjoying her company. Every morning he knocks on her bedroom door and screams NANA. He is her alarm clock. I feel bad because I know she is so tired at night. When I start to move around the house she tells me to sit down. She keeps me under control at times. I hope on the 6th we will have good news where I can relax a little more. Every little move I make, I wonder am I hurting the baby. The doctor told me not to research the amniotic band information. However I did. Of course I was a little freaked out. I am not going to focus on the scary things. Well try my hardest not to. :) Oh yeah on top of everything else Jay came home from daycare with hand foot and mouth virus. Guess who got it. ME! It is rare in adults but I would have been the one to get it. lol.....I am all better now. Great news!! Jay urinated in the toilet today. Well more outside the toilet. I made a sticker chart and put it next to the toilet.  My goal was to start potty training with him the beginning of June. I am not sure how to start but  I am going to give it my best try. He will be wearing underwear by the end of summer!!!
